Westmoreland Family Receives Home Replacement September 19, 2008 (Nashville, Tennessee) – The Tennessee Manufactured Housing Foundation (TMHF) and the Tennessee Manufactured Housing Association (TMHA) held a new home dedication service today at 10:00 am, in Westmoreland, Tennessee. Congratulations go out to Karen Polson and family, for receiving a new manufactured home. TMHF, a 501(c) 3 charitable organization, has a special mission in Tennessee. That would be, ‘To assist in the repair and improvement to existing manufactured homes of Tennesseans, disadvantaged due to income or circumstances; and to provide replacement manufactured homes to Tennesseans, disadvantaged due to income or circumstances.’ When the organization was formed in 1995, it was the first such organization of its kind, in the nation. “Involvement among churches and local businesses, along with housing industry affiliates, is always the key to success for events such as this,” said Executive Director, Marla Jackson. She goes on to say, “This is the second home replacement case in this region of the state, and we are impressed with the pride of this community and their quick response to volunteer for projects involving one of their members.” TMHF and TMHA would like to thank each of the community members and staff employees of the following organizations in Westmoreland: Reverend Donald Key and Faron Troutt, along with the entire men’s group at New Vision Ministries; Bobby and Bo Ward of Ward Construction and their staff; Home Pro; McDole Trucking; Generation Sales & Service; Westmoreland Florist; Russell Carter of R.C. Electric; and the City of Westmoreland. Additionally, we would like to thank other industry members: Bill Graves and Shorty Shockley of Fleetwood Homes in Lafayette, who are Chairman and Co-Chairman, respectively, of the Foundation; Blevins, Inc of Nashville; Oliver Technologies, Inc of Hohenwald; and StyleCrest Products of Atlanta, Georgia. TMHF has assisted over 80 qualifying families in Tennessee, with weatherization projects, minor home repairs, major renovations, and in some cases, a complete home replacement. While the manufactured housing industry has always been extremely generous in their support of TMHF, this year, companies outside of the industry have begun participating and partnering with TMHF by providing goods, services and financial support, in an effort to ensure quality, affordable housing to families in need.
