
About the Foundation
The Tennessee Manufactured Housing Foundation was established in 1995 by the Tennessee Housing Association to provide assistance for manufactured homeowners who are disadvantaged due to income or circumstance. The Foundation assists in the repair and improvement of existing manufactured homes and also provides replacement manufactured homes in certain situations.
Program 1 - Our Original Program, called the 'Traditional Program' offers the following services:

Emergency Assistance Program offers help to manufactured home owners who have an emergency situation. Circumstances include heating, plumbing, water, or structural problems. The maximum assistance is $300 with no pay-back required.

Repair, Renovation and Weatherproofing Program provides improvements and repairs of manufactured homes for disadvantaged families. Maximum amount is $3,000.

Home Replacement Program for families whose manufactured homes have been destroyed or damaged beyond repair.
All applicants requesting assistance under the Traditional Program must have lived in their homes for a minimum of 1 year and the home must have been legally titled in the applicant's name for a minimum of 1 year. There must be no financial encumberance or lien on the home. No age restriction of applicant applys, and the applicant does not have to own the property on which the home resides. However, other restrictions may apply.

Program 2 - Beginning January 2012, a new program will be implemented in partnership with the Tennessee Housing Developing Agency and the Housing Trust Fund, to replace substandard, dilapidated mobile homes (pre-1976) and manufactured homes (post-1976) with new HUD-certified ENERGY STAR qualified manufactured homes.

The Program will assist households at or below 60% of area median income levels.

Applicants MUST be owner-occupants who are at least 60 years of age, or a disabled veteran of any age.

Applicants must own both the home which is to be replaced and the land on which it is sitting, and must also have lived in the home to be replaced for a minimum of one year prior to application. [Home must have been legally titled in the applicant's name for at least one year, as well.]
- There must be no current financial encumbrance or lien on the home.
